lilypond 2.10.25 on Slackware 11 - cannot process russian lyrics

Hello.
I'm using lilypond 2.10.25 (downloaded from 
http://www.johannes-schoepfer.de/lilypond/ ) on Slackware 11 linux.
I cannot process files that contain russian lyrics (utf-8 encoding) - lilypond 
quits with "undefined symbol: FT_Sfnt_Table_Info" message.
However, lilypond works fine with English lyrics.

Here is output produced by lilypond:

I've tried to find solution with google, but didn't find pages that contain 
both "lilypond" and "undefined symbol" "FT_Sfnt_Table_Info".

What is causing this and how this problem can be solved?
