I'm trying to add some carefully-positioned markup above a multimeasure rest by attaching it to a spacer within the rest (s8^\markup {} R1*15/16*2). But the presence of the spacer alters the horizontal spacing routine of the multimeasure rest.
Is there a way to convince the multimeasure rest that the spacer does not exist?
Or to somehow force it to space the same as a "pure" multimeasure rest?
