For some reason this gives an oversized glyph;
For the simple reason that rehearsal marks use font-size = +2 by default.
Definitions like the following may be useful:
push = \markup{ \override #'(font-size . 0) \musicglyph #"scripts.upbow" }

which you then can use like
\relative c'{ c d e f \mark \push | g e c2 }
