By coincidence, I just ran into a similar problem: LilyPond insists to put the 
grace note before the end of the previous repeat end, also pushing in a key 
signature change into the repeat. The stuff in the manual, at the end of the 
grace note section, does not seem to work (LilyPond 2.15.5).

It seems that LilyPond has a strong preference putting a grace note appearing 
first in a measure before the bar, regardless whether it is appropriate or not. 

The grace note can be put after the bar. Some prefer to put it before the bar 
to emphasize that it should be performed before the beat. Hindemith, 
"Elementary Training", prefers it to be performed at the beat. I think these 
are different standards.

So I suspect one fix to the problem might be by adding a feature that writes 
the grace note after the bar. If one would want to have it written before the 
bar, that would be more complicated to fix.
