Subject: Piano pedal - horizontal alignment

Hello,

In a piano score the \sustainOn, \sustainOff symbols are generally in a
horizontal line, i.e., same distance below the bass staff. In some instances

the symbol is higher or lower depending on the vertical position of the note

to which it is attached.

How do I get them all on the same horizontal line?
This issue is more aesthetic than practical.

Thank you for your kind attention.

=================================================

Placing them in a dynamics context will do this:

<<
\new Staff \relative c' {
c2 d4 e |
c4 e e,2 |
g'4 a g a |
c1 |
c,2 d4 e \sustainOn |
c4 e e,2 \sustainOff |
g'4 a g a |
c1 |
}
\new Dynamics {
s1 \sustainOn |
s2 s2 \sustainOff |
s2 s2 |
s1 |
}
