Usually it should work to run convert-ly on a file for an older version
of LilyPond in order to make it work on newer versions.  Please report
back whether this works for you: if an important use case like this
(namely export from a different application, implying reoccurring
trouble rather than just a one-off problem) does not work, we want to
fix convert-ly appropriately.
