Back on the topic for this thread. I also noticed that behavior, and I thought I have a fix for that in my variant used in the Reger score. Unfortunately, the "fix" was broken and produced the erroneous clashing hyphen in the one syllable.
So, the failed "centering" of the real hyphen over the pseudo-hyphen still is a problem (which I don't have a solution for), but Harm's original code seems stable in the sense that it does not introduce additional hyphens. Sorry for that confusion, I should have mentioned that I adapted the code - it only occured to me now that this was the problem.
