Hi Joram,

> you seem to be incredibly productive and skilled for your job!

It's been an okay year. =)

Here is a Google folder in which I've put single pages from some scores:
<https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B7CV4FaCsf5LQklVRlFsNFV6bms>

  1. Speech From A Novella (from "Three Portraits"), pg. 1:
This is the opening of my new song cycle, which premieres in two weeks. There
are still a few things I need to fix in the engraving (e.g., all those lv and
repeatTies), but I'm waiting until the premiere is over to do the final score,
since there will inevitably be some revisions and/or corrections.

  2. When You Are Old and Grey, pg. 1 (octavo score):
A short choral work, with text by Yeats.

  3. Quodlibet (from "Bernadettenlieder", part of "The Gray Cat & The
Flounder"), pg. 15:
This is the quiet opening of a song that builds into a rather full
(neo-romantic) layered duet with ensemble accompaniment.

  4. Dewey Decimal System (from "The Gray Cat & The Flounder"), pg. 5:
A piece for [female] narrator, clarinet, and marimba; text is adapted from
Melvil Dewey's introduction to the book in which he created his famous
cataloguing system.

I don't know how "proficient" I am… but I suppose I do slam out a lot of scores
fairly quickly, and I have pretty high aesthetic standards. To wit: I don't
think any of these scores is yet ready for actual publication (though they’re
fine for study, performance, studio recording, etc.). I'm getting close to
finalizing my house style — the "Speech from a Novella" and "When You Are Old
and Grey" examples are closest — and when I do, I'll be going back and applying
it to all my existing scores, tweaking them up, and publishing them. (I'm
planning to take a sabbatical next year in order to get that project finished.)

Hope this helps!
Kieren.
