Hi Guy,
So far, only mandatories ciphers are implemented in bzrtp. However as you noticed, adding new ciphering suite is doable.
Best regards
Hello Eli, hello all,
I'm certainly interested in having some more crypto algorithms in bzrtp too. Furthermore I would have some time to help with the patches.
Maybe we can do something about getting the patches merged. E.g. I could review and test your (Eli's) patches before requesting to merge them (and vice versa). This would hopefully reduce the time Belladonne has to spent on it.
What do you think?
Best Regards Ben
Peter,
Off the list, I thought I’d share some additional details with you. I've got a tweaked liblinphone that uses zrtpcpp 4.2.4 with the extra algorithms I mentioned. I’d be happy to share if you want it.
Unfortunately, Belladonne nuked their ZRTP compatibility layer, which used to live in the oRTP submodule, in favor of directly calling bzrtp functions from the mediastreamer2 submodule. So using zrtpcpp means giving up on updates to liblinphone and belle-sip (after approx January of this year).
On the “slightly good news” front, all of the necessary algorithm support for bzrtp is available in PolarSSL; it just needs to be exposed. I have some half-hearted approval from my boss to work on this if the Belladonne guys won’t. I just wish they had a better track record for accepting patches.

This is a great question and something I started looking at recently also. CSipSimple, as an example of another open source sip client, uses openssl and has support for all those algos and more (twofish) for ZRTP.
I'd love to see linphone adapt more secure algos and keysizes. Are there any plans for this?
Cheers, Peter
