 Just an update FYI: it turns out that std::identity had been already
implemented in clang trunk even before I opened a bug[*] about it, as I've
just learnt because this bug was closed today, so we should be able to
revert this once we upgrade to clang 12 and I've added an item to my
personal TODO list to remind me to do it.
