So there is a patch from Martin Guy that I am interested in using. I
think he also references your patches as well.

I wanted to start from crosstool-0.42 and wanted to apply Martin's
patches first before building (ie, crosstool-0.42-mg2.patch) how do I go
about applying the patch. 

Is it as follows?

cd crosstool-0.42
patch -p1 crosstool-0.42-mg2.patch
