[Ltib] Adding changes to the patches

hi,
       iam trying to add some code in the patches of the linux packages in the 
folder /opt/freescale/pkgs/<some patch file>, but its not cross compiling 
after made changes in the patches.so, what are the things we should 
concentrate in changing or altering a patch file source code.please try to 
overcome this issue.
