Hi Tobi,

I asked someone with with a mcf547x_8x to try this out and here's what
they said:

I tried this and haven't seen the problem. 

Also can he try to redirect the output into a temporary file then
edit the file.  Then we could narrow it down to a smaller set of
possibilities:

# cat /proc/cpuinfo > /tmp/test
# vi /tmp/test
