Thanks for the offer of help.

The latest from CVS should work with Gentoo, if not I'll fix it.  I'd
just use the HEAD as it's easier to iterate over and it's usually okay
for stabiliy.  The easiest way to get it is to use the link:
http://www.bitshrine.org/#ref_4 (the quick install).  This is basically
a simple wrapper to do a cvs checkout.
