i simply got an email last night, part of which reads:

"Customer is using the Freescale i.mx51 Babbage evaluation board as
the starting point.

"Target version of LTIB is the most current
L2.6.35_10.11.01_ER_source.tar.gz"

i'm currently running ubuntu 10.10, which i will assume is a
perfectly respectable development system as i already have it
reasonably loaded with general development tools.

i've grabbed the latest version of LTIB, now i'm just looking for
that tarball. and i notice that someone has clearly downloaded
precisely what i'm after:

http://forums.freescale.com/t5/i-MX-Microprocessors/Selection-not-found-for-Gnome-desktop-package/m-p/67411

oh, wait, there it is:

http://www.freescale.com/webapp/sps/site/prod_summary.jsp?code=IMX51_SW

under the link "Linux Source Code Files." it's just downloading under
a slightly different name:

L2.6.35_10.11.01_ER_source_bundle.tar.gz
