Follow-up Comment #9, bug #62231 (group lwip):
As stated before tcp_close worked for me. I made the client reset every 20
seconds and when it reconnected the server killed the old socket with a simple
close. It would have saturated in no time with some sockets being "lingering".
The issue was that overnight that accumulated massive amounts of leaked
memory.
Brendan, maybe you should open a new bug report with more detailed information
on your setup and a more accurate title. How do you detect that the socket is
still alive, by the way?
