Hi Shobhan. I don't know too much about linux box... Does it have a full linux
distribution inside?? You problem seems to be produced by netif_init(). Does
your linux kernel have tun/tap support??? And, if it has it, is it correctly
configured??
See $(PATH_TO_YOUR_LINUX_SOURCES)/Documentation/network/tuntap.txt to correctly
configure tun/tap.
