All FFs souds like the ehternet broadcast address.
Are they really sure the target is a unicast address?
(maybe they mistake a subnet broadcast for a unicast?)

The ARP won't pass an IP router. Nothing to worry about.
Recently I did encounter another ARP problem in an old
lwip version we've used. It produced an ARP network flood.

I can highly recommend an update.
Many serious issues were solved since 0.6.1.
