My reason is, that i'm using lwip without operating system. Also, raw api is ideal to create your own api if needed in some specific environment.

a slightly off-topic question that kept stirring in my head:

Why do nearly all people on this list seem to use the raw API instead of netconn or sockets?
Performance-gain? Flexibility?
