apps/mdns/mdns is a responder, I don't think it can be used for querying :-)Host name querying is included in core/dns.c, but I don't think we have support for service querying.
I'd rather make probing/conflict resolution more top prio... (see task #14175: Implement missing things in MDNS responder)
