I'd really like to know what they were thinking when they wrote that. In
some terminal emulators -- NCSA Telnet for the PC, for example --
pressing the number pad's 1/End key with Num Lock ON sends an ASCII `1',
and pressing the number pad's 1/End key with Num Lock OFF sends an ASCII
`1' -- even though the emulator DOES CHECK to see if Num Lock is on or
off! I have a fix for this, if anyone needs it.

of numbers. I have a non-enhanced keyboard and when I enter Lynx, I
can only use the movement keys with the numberlock turned on. This
makes it difficult to get off a "link" that requires a typed command.
Please tell what causes my difficulties or wheather or not it is caused
  by my keyboard.

You are a very lucky man to have such a keyboard. To get off a text input
field, press Ctrl-I or Tab, or scroll the display with Ctrl-P to make
the cursor jump to the topmost anchor on the screen (assuming one
appears; to go down instead of up in the document, hit Ctrl-N).

As long as link numbering is off, you never need to touch a number-pad,
arrow, or dedicated scrolling or editing key to use Lynx. Never ever. And
that is the way it should be.
