You are absolutely correct.  I had thought that the extremely humourous
nature of the "Alice's Restaurant" song would have made it clear that I was
making (an apparently inept) attempt at some humor with respect to mildly
irritating activities by others.  Of course, if you don't find that song
humourous (it probably offends some), you are not likely to get my drift.
