LYNX-DEV problem with gopher database

I've been looking up genealogical info on the web and ran into a problem
with the following URL:
        http://www.everton.com/usa/il.htm
Link [7] is a gopher address.
        gopher://uicvm.cc.uic.edu/00/11/library/libdb/landsale
When I follow it I get a blank page.
Is this expected behavior?
What should it do?
