I believe the behavior will depend upon the capibilites of your
terminal.  I cannot speak for how ncurses handles the mouse but slang
checks to make sure that TERM is set to xterm before activating
xterm's mouse mode.  From some of Thomas Dickey's messages, I gather
that there are some terminfo variables that specify the terminal's
mouse capabilities.  Once I find out more information about the
terminfo variables, I will add code to slang to read the terminfo
mouse entries so that slang can handle the mouse on other terminals.

What other terminals have mouse capabilities that are different from
xterm?
