By "top-level" I thought you meant only lynx2-7-1/.  The files "Makefile"
and "CommonMakefile", or just the latter, under WWW/Library/Implementation
are probably enough, and the others could go.  I hoped to keep the four
Makefiles (under top-level, src/, src/chrtrans, WWW/Library/Implementation)
which might be useful as templates, but don't let me of all people influence
your better judgement.  In general, the less clutter the better.
