You should be able to find pointers to the URL encoding of forms data,
and to the alternatives supported by some other browsers and servers,
on http://www.w3.org/.
Basically, for the URL encoded option:
space -> + (or %20)
awkward characters go to %xx, where xx is the hexadecimal equivalent
(good servers will cope with overuse of this, but some may not understand
even %20).
parameter values are in the form name=value
& is used to separate values
<input type=image name=name... generates parameters called name.x and
name.y, containing the location of the click, relative to the top left,
in pixels.
