I don't know if anyone really knows the answer to these questions. I
believe that it works under DOS 5 and 6. In addition to the lynx
executable, you need a packet driver and ppp program if you want to
browse the web. If you only want to render html files locally, the ppp
program is not necessary. The lynx executable takes a little over 500000
bytes, but it is compressed and may take up 1 megabyte of memory. I
suspect you need at least 1 megabyte of disk space and 2 megabytes of
memory for lynx to run.

Since you have email, you can use one of the services that will fetch a
web page or ftp file and automatically mail it to you (such as ftpmail).
Since these services mime encode or uuencode the file, you are looking
at over 1 megabyte of mail. The simplest way is to get a friend who has
internet access to download the files and give it to you on a floppy
disk. You can start with a package from my site if you want:
"ftp://ftp.rahul.net/pub/dkaufman/lynx2.8.1dev.13-DOS.zip"; or
"http://www.rahul.net/dkaufman/lynx2.8.1dev.13-DOS.zip";
