Jacob Poon pointed out a telnet site with Lynx 2-8 yesterday (see Archive),
if you don't want to compile 2-8 yourself.

in real life on lynx-dev, no-one is likely to test your HTML fragments:
you have to do it yourself & if you find it's still happening in 2-8,
that's a bug (probably) to be fixed in 2-8-1
if & when someone (you?) get around to the programming.
lynx-dev's volunteer developers have limited time & interests:
there's no point in reporting 2-7 bugs
& there are many other good reasons for updating to 2-8,
after which you can report 2-8 bugs, which ARE important.
