i don't know about the Perl script,
but using the latest development version 2-8-2dev.17
i had no problem going directly there:
however, it failed when i tried to use -dump , which i don't normally do.
someone else may have more precise advice here.
2-7-1 is a bit out of date -- c 2 yrs -- , so you should update:
you can get 2-8-1 from www.slcc.edu/lynx/release .
as you will see from my e-signature below, i know Shrewsbury well:
