replies so far haven't been very helpful (smile),
so first as of Lynx2-8-3.dev13 you still have to remember re CC
before you finally exit vi : if you manage to do that much,
you can enter  :w ~/tmp/somefilename ,
which should create the temporary file you desire;
then you enter  :q , re-enter the Lynx mailto screen, enter your CC,
then when vi comes up again enter  :e ~/tmp/somefilename ,
then enter  :w , then  :q  & you will be where you want to be.
yes, i know it's messy, but i do it sometimes with a different editor.

otherwise, i agree that Lynx should offer the mailto screen again
for changes to it's various inputs after editing,
surely something not difficult to program:
where is Vlad when we need him (grin)?
