I have a tiny little problem, though: I installed it on Mac OS X.4, and now lynx automatically pops up every time I open a new terminal window. This means I now have no way of using the command line in OS X, since quitting lynx quits the whole terminal session. What do I do?
A couple ideas occur to me:1) check the properties of your terminal (Terminal -> Preferences). It *should* be set to the default /usr/bin/login (at least that's what it's set to on my iBook running OS X 10.4) If it's set to "Execute this command..." and it points to lynx, you've got an easy fix.
2) If it *is* set to the default /usr/bin/login you'll want to check your /etc/passwd file and see if your username has an entry that's set to `which lynx` for its login shell
3) My last guess would be to check your ~/.bash* files to see if one of them is launching Lynx, and then exiting afterwards. This may also include checking your /etc/profile and /etc/bashrc which could influence this.
I'm not sure what triggered it to begin with, as I can't imagine installing Lynx would do this, but at least this may give you some remedies.
