Update of task #9696 (project maposmatic):
Should be Finished on: ven 11 sep 2009 00:00:00 CEST => sam 07 aoû 2010
00:00:00 CEST
Category: None => ocitysmap
Summary: Automatically adjust grid size for small surface
(e.g. villages) => Improve rendering for small areas

Follow-up Comment #1:
When rendering small areas, the following problems arise and should be dealt
with:
* the grid size is way too big and becomes useless for the index. The grid
size should be adapted automatically (and gradually) for smaller areas: 250m,
100m, and up to 50m ?
* the copyright notice becomes very badly placed and sometimes overflows
the map on one or both sides
* the scale label "500m" sometimes strikes over the scale line
For the copyright notice, I propose that we redesign the map output to place
the legend and copyright below the map. This would also mean we need a minimum
map width. To be discussed and tried out of course.
