Re: [GMG-Devel] One click installer for MediaGoblin?

User-agent: Gnus/5.13 (Gnus v5.13) Emacs/24.0.90 (gnu/linux)

So a few things:

So what Manolinux said is mostly right. I actually think it could be
made pretty easy to install (via things like Puppet manifest, which we
have, and some of the auto-deployment things like Redhat's OpenShift and
proper distro packaging), but the truth of the matter is even if you
install it and that's made super easy to do it still takes technical
skills to maintain between upgrades, etc. But I *would* like to
continue to make the process easier; I'd like to even beat out how easy
it is to install shared hosting PHP sites.

I think though that it probably is easier to go on a site that already
supports other users. For now, I recommend one of two things:
 - go register on http://mg.wandborg.se/
 - email me your username and email, and I'll set you up on
   mediagoblin.com

One more thing:

You may be right, but we're starting to look into working on this now,
so I'm hoping OStatus integration will actually start to become fairly
good fairly soon!
