No offence taken! I didn't search the wiki 'cause I thought this would
be the kind of information nobody would bother putting in there, and I
was impressed that you actually did :-)

I think this does answer my question. Deploying Redmine is indeed
cumbersome because of the whole RoR thingy; I don't like Trac's
interfaces at all but it is indeed simpler. (Then there's FusionForge
but it lacks documentation; I've also seen that Savane is being
rewritten in Python/Django, but I'm doubtful as to wether it's usable
