Thanks, for answer !

ok, i'm not the master of shell-scripts and so on ...

But i thought, that this could be handle with monit itself ...

So, i will distribute this check_hobbit-file on my thousand hosts
and will change it to the respective hostname of that machine with ower own-house configuration-tool ( .. like cfengine and so on ..)

... also i can distribute that and other files with an own rpm,
but i've got also solaris machines ...

I've got a problem to check the pidfile of a process ..

The pidfile has got the name inclusive his own hostname,
but unfortunatley monit didn't resolve this variable ...
What can i do ?

The monitrc config file is not a shell script.
As written in the monit manual in the part 'Alert message layout'
setup custom alert message.

Just put the hostname in the line:
check process hobbit with pidfile

You don't change the hostname often, right? :)
