you can run monit in verbose mode using the -v option ... it'll log the tests progress.

Make sure the script which is used in the "check program" is executable (for example mode 755).

For pooling a graphite server and sending alerts. I believe I followed everything properly but, upon creating a situation that should have sent an alert to my email, I did not receive anything. I looked at /var/log/monit.log and don't see any errors. Where else can I look or is there I way I can see what monit is running and what status codes it is receiving?
