$ tar xvf monotone_0.40.orig.tar.gz
$ mv monotone-0.40.orig monotone-0.40
$ cd monotone-0.40
$ mtn diff -r t:monotone-0.40 -r t:monotone-0.40-6 | patch -p0
$ autoreconf
$ dpkg-buildpackage

Is there something wrong in this?
