Hi,
Like everyone, I'm playing with SCMs these days and it was natural
to give Monotone (0.15) a try.
I took the XEmacs source and tried to import it (machine P4 1.8 Ghz
with SuSE Linux 9.1).

$ tar xvfz xemacs-21.5.18.tar.gz
$ cd xemacs-21.5.18
$ monotone --db=~/test/xemacs-beta.db db init
$ monotone --db=~/test/xemacs-beta.db add *
$ monotone --db=~/test/xemacs-beta.db genkey address@hidden
$ monotone --branch=org.jm.xemacs-beta commit 'Initial import'
monotone: beginning commit

one table row

I tried this on a PPC (iBook G3) machine, and it worked successfully.
I read the documentation and tutorial carefully but I may have missed
something though.
Cheers,
