[Nano-devel] patch status

Sorry I've been a bit out of touch lately; I've been trying
out (and making a few tweaks to) the backup patch.  It seems
to be working well so far.  The changes I've made to it are
documented in the patch's changes to the Changelog.  I still
need to test it a little more (not to mention get the ok to
commit), though.

After this, I'll get to David Benbennick's behemoth patch
(although I did add the fix for his email address to this
patch).
