very odd.  I did the standard make dist yes, I'll have to investigate 
this.  Is there any possibility that it something to do with the new 
version of gettext?

I rm'ed the old nano.port and did a CVS update, now I have:
ls -l nano.pot
-rw-r--r--    1 chrisa   chrisa      15563 Oct  4 08:25 nano.pot

Correct yah?
