Two different Gnome terminals?  Not simply tabs?  Are they logged in on
different machines?  When not, why not use a single nano to open multiple
files?  And use Alt+> and Alt+< to flip through them?

When having the two files open with a single nano, copying a block of text
is even quicker: mark the block, M-6, M->, ^U, done.
