Hello Chris,in the late 80s Wordperfect used a timeout on the Home key. Within the timeout, pressing Home twice would be different from pressing it slowly twice.
Wouldn't that be an acceptable trick to replace the missing ctrl-home, ctrl-end etc. in Nano? For instance, you press Home-Home quickly and the cursor jumps to begin of file - whatever the keyboard/layout/keymap you are suffering from.
