It's been three weeks, and we still haven't found a way forward.

Meanwhile, in SVN, the number of fixed bugs has risen from
14 to 21, since 2.4.2.  It is really high time for a release.
Our users deserve to get those fixes.

(Okay, most of those fixes are just small things, but there
are also two segfaults -- one when nano is run on a machine
with a long hostname and file locking is enabled (which Ubuntu
does by default), and another when UTF-8 characters of three
or four bytes occur.)

So... what's the plan?
