It would be cool if nano could be made to have a for-most-people
familiar interface with a single option.  But... would that also
mean that ^X and ^C (Cut and Copy) would do nothing when nothing
is selected?  And should ^Q then quit nano immediately, closing
all buffers?  Because if not, then the familiarity of the bindings
would be rather superficial.
