Thank you -- I indented it a bit (try editing using Emacs, or invoke
'indent' on the file after changes) and added some more test cases.
There is a subtle corner case when the caller supplies passwd=NULL to
disable password checking vs passwd="" to indicate no PIN but it isn't
clear to me if any other behaviour would be better.

Please test and I can make another release tomorrow...
