Details:

After successful compilation, octave aborts with the following error:

%> ./run-octave -f --eval "test mode"
octave/3.3.51+/site/m: idx-vector.cc:1091: void
idx_vector::copy_data(octave_idx_type*) const: Assertion `false' failed.
panic: Aborted -- stopping myself...
