Follow-up Comment #2, bug #31025 (project octave): I checked "config.log" and found the following: configure:28643: checking for pcre-config configure:28671: result: no configure:28684: checking whether pcre.h defines the macros we need conftest.c:413:18: error: pcre.h: No such file or directory configure:28709: result: no configure:28749: WARNING: PCRE library not found. This will result in some loss of functionality for the regular expression matching functions. [...] configure:53959: WARNING: PCRE library not found. This will result in some loss of functionality for the regular expression matching functions. I've installed the library and all seems well now. Thanks!
