Follow-up Comment #3, bug #33231 (project octave):

Before recompiling, you may first check if it will indeed fix the problem.

Under octave prompt, find which __go_draw_axes__.m is used :
which __go_draw_axes__
patch this file
Remember to leave and start again octave as these m-files are cached.

For the compilation, are you starting from a fresh extract ?
