        Operating System: Microsoft Windows

Under 3.2.4 you could read an image using

I = imread(imagename, 'jpg')

In 3.4.3, if you specify the format you get an error.

warning: your version of GraphicsMagick limits images to 16 bits per pixel
error: imread: invalid image file: invalid conversion from string to real N-d
error: C:\Octave343\Octave3.4.3_gcc4.5.2\share\octave\3.4. \m\image\imread.m
at line 74, column 7

Changing the call to

I = imread(imagename)

produces the correct result.
