Details:
Hello,
I am using GNU Octave Versions 3.4.3 and 3.6.0. under Windows 7.
there occurs an error in GNU Octave 3.6.0 with surf()-Funktion and textures.
the simple example code in attachment(zip-file) is tested in matlab 2007a and
GNU Octave 3.4.3 and works fine with this. In Gnu Octave 3.6.0 this example
crashed with error:
error: invalid color specification: texturemap
error: invalid value for color property "facecolor" (value = texturemap)
error: called from:
error:

panic: Segmentation violation -- stopping myself...
attempting to save variables to `octave-core'...
save to `octave-core' complete
to prevent "panic: Segmentation violation...." wrapped a try ....catch around
the surf-function, so Octave 3.6.0 not hangs up!
when you cut out the 'FaceColor','texturemap', then Octave hangs suddenly(with
try ... catch..., and also Octave 3.4.3 crashing under this condition)
with error:
panic: Segmentation violation -- stopping myself...
attempting to save variables to `octave-core'...
save to `octave-core' complete
For testing purposes in the zip file is also matlabs topo.mat and the
minimized code example wich crashed in Octave 3.6.0.
Hope its helpful report!
Best Regards
Stephan Gebauer
